
Cologne, Germany - In a truly exciting final, the winner of Unser Star für Baku and thus the German representative in the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest has been chosen tonight - it's Roman Lob, and he will sing Standing Still!
Tonight marked the most exciting stage of Unser Star für Baku, the German national selection. In Monday's semi-final, the public chose Roman Lob and Ornella de Santis as the ones fighting the final battle, and tonight, they, for the first time, presented potential Eurovision entries.The panel jury, which included Stefan Raab, TV legend and one of the presenters of the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest, Alina Süggeler, lead singer of the band Frida Gold, and Thomas D, member of the hip-hop band Die Fantastischen Vier, commented on tonight's performances, but the decision who will represent Germany with which song was taken solely by the televoters.
In the show, which was presented by Sandra Rieß and Steven Gätjen, each candidate first sang three songs, out of which the public selected the best one, respectively. This was the initial line-up of songs (in order of appearance, finalist songs in bold):
